Today was our second day of self defense and our last. I found today a lot more fun than yesterday because we were more hands on. We learnt how to throw off an attacker if they came onto you and what the strongest points of you body are. We also learned the laws about self defense and what you can and can't legally do. The men were really kind and went slow to make sure you understood what to do. After lunch time we went face to face each with the instructors one by one. This was very scary even though he went slow and told us what to do. When it was my turn I was so nervous and I kinda forgot what we learnt in the last two days for that few minutes we were fighting. I'd hate to think what would happen if I was really attacked. You panick in the moment and don't know what to do, but practice makes perfect and I think self defense is a very important life skill to have so I will try to learn and remember the techniques because someday they could save my life, but touch wood it will never happen. It also takes the energy out of you very quickly when your fighting so its handy to know the small little powerful moves that can protect you or even to know the warning signs that could keep you out of a fight. I'd love to do the class again, maybe i'll learn more in the future. I would highly recommend self defense to anyone as a necessary life skill. It can also keep you health while practicing.
Getting ready to fight
He was ruffling Hannah's hair because she stopped defending herself, it was quite funny.
End of the class :( Had lots of fun though
I do have a video of me fighting one on one with one of the instructors (which was difficult and you panic a lot) But unfortunately blogger wont let me upload it. I will try again to put it up soon, but for now you will just have to imagine the fight :)
