Open Night

7th Oct '14

Last night was the open night to incoming first years. I was asked to help out in the kitchen giving out buns. When I first went in it was quiet and myself and my friends had to melt some chocolate for people to dip the buns into. Then at about half seven people flooded in and all of the buns were gone in about half an hour. There were 16 of us handing out all of the buns and helping people ice and decorate them. It was really fun seeing all of the little kids enjoying them. We finished at about half eight and started to clean up the kitchen, there were only four other girls left to help clean up, all the rest went home. There was a lot of crumbs on the  floor and chocolate on the tables. There was a bowl full of chocolate left over ( we weren't allowed to eat it, which was disappointing). When we finished we went over to the other h.ec room and helped tidy up there too and got to take home some sweets left over. Overall I enjoyed the night and would like to help out every year, but its only really t.y's who get asked to help out. I think I also improved on my social skills meeting new people who would be coming into the school and talking to them. I hope we made a good impression for home economics class because I would highly recommend it.

There were so many buns, this was only about half of them.
Yummy chocolate!!
